Meet our Green-endorsed 2018 candidates!
ANN WILCOX (MAYOR)
A former Ward 2 DC Board of Education member from 1994-1998, Ann Wilcox has the experience and the vision to work for a progressive, neighborhood-based city that respects all persons regardless of income level and background. A practicing attorney, Ann regularly represents DC protesters and defended gay activist and former Army Lt. Dan Choi after his arrest in 2010 at a protest in front of the White House against the military's “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" policy.
JOYCE PAUL (WARD 5 COUNCILMEMBER)
Joyce has served 8 terms as an elected ANC Commissioner in Wards 2 and 5. A member of the Consumer Utility Board for over 30 years, Joyce has testified before DC Council and the Public Service Commission on affordable utility rates for many years. Before retiring, Joyce served as Program Director of Community Outreach in the Shaw Urban Renewal Area. She has received numerous awards and certificates of Appreciation from the PTSS and other civic and community groups.
DAVID SCHWARTZMAN (AT-LARGE COUNCILMEMBER)
David is campaigning on a platform to empower working class District residents by establishing a DC public bank, raising the state tax rate on DC's highest earners to offset the GOP tax cuts for the wealthy, and fighting to implement Paid Family Leave here in the District. A resident of Washington, DC since 1977, David previously ran for public office in 2010 and 2012.
LINO STRACUZZI (DELEGATE TO THE US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES)
A first-generation American, Lino has spent over 25 years working as an auto technician. Lino's top priorities include restructuring Social Security and Medicare to make sure it remains available for all of us, strengthening employee rights, strengthening our public school system, and passing single-payer healthcare. Lino previously ran for Delegate to the US House of Representatives in 2014 and 2016.
