Join Co-Chair of the DC Statehood Green Party Daryl Moch and former City Council candidate Lee Aikin on March 24th at UDC to learn more about the importance of saving McMillan Park. The park, one of the first integrated public parks in DC, was initially closed that was later closed due to racist attitudes, is now being handed over to a one-percenter development team in a no-bid contract with the city as its business partner.

Tens of millions of your tax dollars stand to be spent irresponsibly, with significant questions of conflict of interest and propriety by the DC auditor brushed aside. The former Vice President of the developer was also recently named Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.

A broad coalition of progressive groups from across the District will dive into the status of current legal proceedings as well as the implications of unchecked development in the District on low-income families. The no-bid contract has already been found in violation of laws and regulations by the DC Court of appeals who vacated and remanded the DC Zoning Commission ruling.
